ProVen’s Andrew Webster talks IHT with The Times

Manager of the ProVen Estate Planning Service shares his insights into preparing for inheritance tax liabilities

Andrew Webster, Investment Director at Beringea – the manager of the ProVen Estate Planning Service (PEPS) – spoke recently with Elizabeth Anderson of The Times Money Mentor about managing inheritance tax liabilities.

The piece examines the recent increase in inheritance tax (IHT) receipts across the UK and how using business relief (BR) could help investors mitigate their tax liabilities, in some cases to nil.

The article shares perspectives on the growing case for using BR products, such as the ProVen Estate Planning Service, which seek to pass on a greater proportion of your wealth to beneficiaries. As Andrew comments: “Investors in business relief are typically looking to benefit from the shorter window for money to qualify for IHT relief [when compared with gifting money from their estate], while retaining access to their money”.

To find out more about BR, its pros and cons, and how it can help reduce IHT liabilities, read the full article on The Times Money Mentor here.
